Safety concerns with baby car mirrors

Child vehicle mirrors are supposed to be of help to both the parent and the kid but in some cases they can jeopardize the safety of the baby. Below are some safety concerns with baby car mirrors.

  1. Fire-related issues

      Even though such cases are not very common, they can still happen. The sun’s reflection into the car seat mirror can cause fire due to excess heat. Parents need to be very careful in case the sun is too hot and they will be exposed for a long time to ensure their safety and that of the baby.

      2. Danger 

      Mirrors could be dangerous in the event of an accident. Anything that is not permanently fixed in the automobile such as those baby car mirrors attached to the rear-seat headrest can become projectiles in a crash and should not be anywhere near the child’s vicinity in the vehicle.

      3. Unsafe distraction

      Mirrors can be very distracting and causes you to shift your focus and attention from driving to staring at the baby. Parents should be very aware to avoid getting carried away to prevent accidents from occurring.

      4. Blocking the view

      Some parents find it difficult to view the road behind them because the babycar seat mirror blocks the view. When driving you should be able to access the view in all angles to ensure your safety on the road and these mirrors can distract that.

      5. Physical injuries

      Such accidents are very rare but it doesn’t mean that they don’t happen. These auto seat mirrors are very heavy thus can injure the baby when it loosely attached and therefore falls on the toddler. Parents should take an initiative to check the mirrors once in a while to ensure that they are attached firmly.
